It was a heartwarming experience as the wonderful people of the Kuroko community in Adavi LGA gathered to celebrate the facilitation and commissioning of the Ohuogogo by my humble self through the Hayat Foundation, which was reconstructed by the Kogi State Government through the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KSCSDA) and dedicated in honour of my beloved Grandmother, Hajiya Fulani Momoh Adive’s Legacy.

Ohuogogo holds a special place in my heart, as it was central to the survival of both my grandmother and me. As a child, I sometimes accompanied my beautiful, hardworking grandmother to the market, assisting her in selling yam, akara, cassava, and any food we had in excess at home, so we could use the money gotten from selling the food items to buy ingredients for cooking at home. Standing here to commission the project, brings back cherished memories, including how I used to sit on stones to sell. One particular market day, a heavy wind disrupted the traders’ wares and tables, affecting the stone I sat on. Waiting for the wind to calm down, I vowed to build a fitting marketplace for my community when the opportunity arose. Thanks to the support of my dear husband, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello CON, that dream has become a reality.

I extend my deepest gratitude to my dear husband, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his consistent support in every developmental project in our beloved state. He is indeed a blessing to Kogi State.
This market and community taught me humility, compassion, and hard work. It laid the foundation for my entrepreneurial skills and funded my education after my father’s demise. Additionally, it played a role in my parents’ connection (a story for another day).
To Honourable Dauda Momoh and his amazing team, thank you for your tireless efforts in ensuring the timely delivery of this project. I commend the youth and people of the Kuroko community for their selfless acts in maintaining peace and safety throughout the process.

This project is a collaborative journey, reflecting the strength and unity that define our community spirit. Ohu Ogogo, the heartbeat of our town, stands renewed and revitalized – a symbol of shared commitment to progress, resilience, and economic empowerment.
To all who contributed their time, prayers, and expertise, I express my sincere gratitude. May this reconstructed market be a source of prosperity, a hub of commerce, and a space where connections are forged.

Wow. Remain blessed your Excellency, Hajia Amina Yahaya Bello.
We appreciate all you do for humanity.
