Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has pledged increased support for people with disabilities in Ogori Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State. This commitment was announced during a commissioning ceremony in Magongo, where key community projects, including a teachers’ lodge, borehole rehabilitation, and the renovation of a basic health center, were unveiled. The event also featured the distribution of essential drugs and assistive devices to people with disabilities.
Representing the governor, Chief Momoh Dauda, General Manager of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency, emphasized the administration’s dedication to improving community welfare. The chairman of the Magongo Community Project Management Committee, Mr. J.O. Mangogo, expressed gratitude to the governor for covering the community’s contribution to the projects.
Mr. Faruk Ganiyu, chairman of the Ogori Magongo People with Disability Group, praised the initiative, stating, “Our community has never had it so good with this special intervention.” Hon. Bode Ogunmola, a member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, also commended the governor’s impressive performance and commitment to inclusive development.
The event concluded with the official commissioning of the new facilities and the presentation of assistive devices and medical supplies to beneficiaries.
